This will be a short post, more of a reassurance for you that this blog actually is up and running, and that I will blog whenever I can over on the other side of the world where I hope to be enjoying winter while you melt in Singapore's permanent summer season.
I've still got a few things to get before leaving, mostly some warm clothes for winter (the current count of long-sleeved shirts in my cupboard = 0) and other necessities... And yes, "necessities" is indeed vague because I know I'm still missing out on certain things I need to bring, unfortunately.
Looking forward tremendously to leaving, to meeting Christians from all over the world, and to being blessed and also to blessing others. I firmly believe that this journey is going to be a challenging yet life-changing experience. At the same time, I know I'll miss home, and the people I love, especially because I'm one who requires the support of family and friends to do well.
But it's okay, in Africa I'll have a spiritual family whose support would be invaluable, and obviously I'll still remain in contact with everybody at home! :)
So as I continue to prepare for this journey, do keep me in prayer - that my focus may be on God and His Kingdom, rather than on myself. Baie Dankie! I really appreciate it!
PS: 'Baie Dankie' means 'Thank You' in Afrikaans, and is pronounced as buy-a-donkey.
There you go, your first Afrikaans phrase. Even before I land in the Rainbow Nation :)
